MISSION - Jose N. Cruz, 92, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Cruz was born on October 11, 1919 in Waco. He lived in Michigan for 48 years and in May of 2005 moved to Mission.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria T. Cruz; children, Jose R. Cruz, Raul Cruz, Ruben Cruz, Gustavo Cruz, Amparo Montemayor, and Edelmira Jakubiec; siblings, Domingo Cruz, Apolinar Rodriguez, and Maria Santos Uriste; and 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Damaso and Juana Cruz.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
