MISSION – Manuela A. Olivarez, 92, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, at her residence in Mission. She was born to Jose Antonio Arizpe and Felipa Paz on March 31, 1920, in Madero.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Olivarez; daughters, Lydia Sanchez, Irma Cantu, and Alicia Vela; sons, Ismael Olivarez, Jose Olivarez; and a granddaughter, Barbara Ann Olivarez-Webb.
Survivors include her children, Rafael Olivarez Sr., Maria del Soccoro Mercado and Ana Maria Ochoa; and 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. The memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission.
