ALTON - Marcos Lugo, 97, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Briarcliff Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McAllen. He was born on June 17, 1914 in Santa Etigenia, Guanajuato, Mexico to Pedro and Maria Lugo.
He is survived by one daughter, Guadalupe Gonzalez; sons, Victor Lugo and Ricardo Lugo; and 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Raquel Lugo, and sons, Juan Lugo and Antonio Lugo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Flores Memorial Chapel in Mission. The funeral mass will be heldWednesday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
