Myrna Pearl Stimson Sadler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Jan. 24, 2011 in Mission.

Visitation was held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 28, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral and graveside services were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m., Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories and Cemetery. Rev. William B. Harnish officiated.

Myrna is survived by her husband, Roy; three sons, Steven (Jean) of Scottsdale, AZ, John (Nancy) and Tom (Julie) of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Nathan (Jocelyn), Adam (Sue Ann), Aubrey, Tommy, Muffy and Christopher Sadler, all of the Cedar Rapids area, Jill (Dustin) Sontag of Milwaukee, WI, Emily (Nicholas) Rivera of Cherry Hill, NJ and Roy Steven Sadler of Chicago, IL; nine great-grandchildren, including Brady, Owen, Mabry, Ian, Olivia, Jonathan, Hannah, Hayden Sadler and Elise Rivera; brother, Ralph (Anita) Stimson; nephew, Kent Stimson and niece, Karie (Tyrone) Meyer; sister-in-law, Virginia (Lester) Maier and their children; and godchild, Stacy Farmer Sablan.

Myrna was born on Aug. 17, 1931 to Lyle and Meda Hefner Stimson in Stanley. She attended school in Aurora, graduating from Marion High School in 1949. Myrna and Roy were married in 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Marion. On Nov. 26, 2010, they hosted a family dinner to celebrate their 60th anniversary. Together, with Roy and her three sons, she founded both Sadler Machine and Sadler Power Train companies in Cedar Rapids. She devoted almost 30 years working as a bookkeeper and secretary in the family business. After retirement, Myrna enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Since 1988, she and Roy have wintered in Mission; and throughout the years, some memorable trips were taken to the Cayman Islands.

Myrna will be greatly missed. She will always be remembered for her strong work ethic, creativity, perseverance and ability to connect with so many people.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Destination Cancer Center, Mercy Hospital, 701 10th St. S.E., Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
