Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" R. Calvillo, 71, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at her home in Fairbanks, Alaska.
She was born in Mission on Sept. 19, 1940, to Ramon and Francisca Rodriquez. Mrs. Calvillo moved to Alaska in 1961, living in Kotzebue, Barrow, Nome and finally settled in Fairbanks. While in Nome, she was active with the Girl Scouts, Lions Club and community events.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raul Oscar Calvillo Sr.; sons, Miguel Martinez, Bennie and Raul Oscar Calvillo Jr.; daughters, Sandra Calvillo, Sonia Gallagher, and Telma Wolff; sisters, Marcella Hernandez and Mary Lou Leong; and brothers, Raymond Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Ray Rodriguez; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Raul Rodriquez; mother, Francisca Canales; and father, Ramon Rodriquez.
