OBIT: Florentino Sanchez Jr.

MISSION - Florentino Sanchez Jr., 91, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Mission Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Sanchez was born to Florentino Sanchez Sr. and Guillermina Hinojosa on January 28, 1921 in Mission. He served in the United States Army from November 6, 1942 through January 22, 1946. His military honors included a WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. After his military service, he served in a ministerial capacity since 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Loreta Sanchez; sons, Daniel Sanchez and Isaac Sanchez; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at El Divino Redentor Asambleas de Dios Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
