Diana Lee Haney Dunn passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her home in Mission, Texas following a lengthy illness.
Diana was born March 4, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington to Linda Lee Pike and Fred Darwin Haney.
She graduated from Wurtzburg American High School in Wurtzburg, Germany in 1976, where her family was stationed at a U.S. Army Base. She went on to receive an associate’s degree in nursing from The University of Texas-Pan American and became a registered nurse in 1993.
Diana worked as an RN, mostly in telemetry in cardiac care, until her medically forced retirement in 2007. It was through her work in nursing that she met Stephen Richard Dunn, and they were married on August 27, 1994.
Diana was a member of the Mission II Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook who was passionate about sharing the fruits of her labors and serving others.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen Dunn of Mission; mother, Linda Thompson of Harlingen; sisters, Gail Ann Alcazar of La Feria, Denise Lynn (Dwain) Milligan of Marshall, and Marci Lourraine (Ken) Jackson of McAllen; brothers, Kevin Duane (Jen) Lytle of Harlingen and Brian Oliverson. Also, her nieces and nephews, Fidel Reynaldo, Anthony Jacob, Aaron Davis, and Julana Rachel Alcazar, Jacquelyn Nicole, Robert Dwain, Brian Allen, Kyle Lee, Andrea Renee, Kayla Dawn, and Sean Robert Milligan; and Timonson Erin Jackson; and her beloved canine companion, Joey.
Her father preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held Friday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 29th and Dove Streets in McAllen. The interment follows at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen.
