MISSION - Refugio "Cuco" Contreras Jr., 90, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Contreras was a veteran and served in the Army during WWII.
He is survived by his children, Antonia Anzaldua of Chicago, IL, Olga Gonzalez of McAllen, Apolonio Contreras of Chicago, IL, Gloria Contreras of Mission, Rene Contreras of Mission/Hereford, Alicia Solis of Nebraska, Ruben Contreras of Hereford, Corina Skidmore of Mission, and Criselda Venegas of Alton; sister, Maria Ortiz of La Grulla; and 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 50 years, Elva V. Contreras, and son, Ricardo Contreras.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, from 1 to 9 with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial follows at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
