LA JOYA - Olivia Reyna of La Joya passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2012.
A lifelong La Joya resident, Mrs. Reyna was born in 1922 in the old part of La Joya known as Tabasco to Pablo Trevino and Manuela Gutierrez Trevino. She graduated from La Joya High School in 1940. She later took nursing classes and did private nursing care. She was a medical clerk with Retama Manor Nursing Home and McAllen Regional Hospital.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Angels Catholic Church and the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
Survivors include her children, Margarito Reyna, Nelda Ramirez, Melba Reyna and Sylvia Ramirez; brother, Armando Trevino from Porterville, California; and 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito Reyna.
The funeral mass was held May 26 at Our Lady Queen of the Angels Catholic Church in La Joya. Burial followed at the La Joya Cemetery.
