OBIT: Pete Medrano

MISSION - Pete “Shorty” Medrano, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at McAllen Medical Center.

He was a greens keeper most of his life and began his career at the McAllen Country Club in 1951. He also worked at the Palmview, Shary, Meadow Creek, Martin Valley Ranch, and Monte Cristo golf courses, and in Rio Grande City with Pete Diaz.

He is survived his daughters, Sara Dunham, Marta Cruz, Dina Medrano, Elizabeth Campos, Lupita Looper and Sandra Guerrero; sons, Juan Medrano, Danny Medrano and Pete Medrano Jr.; and 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Guadalupe Medrano.

Cremation will be held Monday, May 28, 2012, at Garden of Angels in Abram.
