MISSION – Tilmon Eugene “T.E.” Sharp, 76, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Sharp retired from Occidental Petroleum after a lifetime in the oilfield. As a horseman, he was a life member and past captain of the Hidalgo County Sheriff Posse as well as co-founder of the Hidalgo County Team Penning Association.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Sharp of Mission; children, Johnny Sharp of Mission, Frankie Lou Sharp of Omaha, Neb., Brian Sharp of Mission, Phillip Sharp of Matador, Gregory Sharp of Hallettsville and Lisa Guerrero of Mission; and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nova George, and half-brothers, M.D. Sharp, Johnny Sharp, and Fonzo Sharp.
Visitation will held Wednesday, June 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 28, 10 a.m. at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
