MISSION - Miguel "Mike" Angel Barrera, 50, born September 15, 1961, passed away June 24, 2012. He was the son of Minerva Barrera of Alton and Juan Barrera of McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Juan Jose Barrera and his grandparents Antonio Rodriguez, Anita Trevino Rodriguez, Pablo Barrera and Concepcion Ybarra de Barrera.
He is survived by his son, Michael Allan; brother, Marco (Virginia) Barrera; sister, Dora B. Lopez; step-sister, Zoraida B Hernandez. (Raul); six nephews and a niece.
Mike was a devoted son, father, uncle and friend. He will be remembered as a responsible and kind-hearted individual that was always there for his family and friends.
Funeral mass was held today at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Burial followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and David Garza.
