OBIT-Maria Zarate

McALLEN - Maria Zarate, 84, died Friday, June 29, 2012, in McAllen. She was born to Platon Ramiro and Natividad Lira on May 4, 1928, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

She is survived by a son, Jose Martin (Criselia) Zarate of Mission; daughters, Nora Nelida (John) Green of Houston and Alma Enriquez of McAllen; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Zarate Jr.

Visitation will be held today, July 2, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 3, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.

The Zarate family would like to give special thanks to IPA Home Healthcare and their wonderful staff, for their consideration and medical attention given to Maria Zarate.
