MISSION - Cecil Goffnett, 88, of Mission passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Mission Nursing Home.
Mr. Goffnett was born on January 7, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He was a veteran of WWII and served in Guam from 1943-1946.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia; sons, John and Gary Goffnett, both of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Barb Elliott and Aimee Hankins, both of Mission; brother, Elton Goffnett; sister, Gala Heilbronn; and nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lawrence and Ethel Goffnett; brother, Stanley Goffnett; grandson, John C. Goffnett; and great-grandson, Baldemar Villarreal.
Interment was at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
