OBIT-Leonel F. Villarreal

SULLIVAN CITY - Leonel F. Villarreal, 93, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Lifecare Hospital of South Texas in McAllen. He was born on April 16, 1919, in Cuevitas to Santos and Antonia Villarreal.

Mr. Villarreal is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ofelia Villarreal; children, Rene Villarreal, Leonel Villarreal, Erasmo Villarreal, Mario Villarreal, Dora Bermea, Lydia Cerda, Rolando Villarreal, Celia Villarreal, Ofelia Saenz, Leticia Rizo, Oscar Villarreal and Hilda Alaniz; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Guadalupe Dillard; brothers, Inez Villarreal, Ruben Villarreal, Domingo Villarreal, Guadalupe Villarreal, Manuel Villarreal and Federico Villarreal.

The funeral mass was held Aug. 14 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sullivan City. Burial followed at Sullivan City Cemetery.
