MISSION – Velma Sosebee, 82, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012.
Mrs. Sosebee was born on May 3, 1930 in Mission to Zula Mae Roe Pierce and Luther Thomas Pierce. She graduated from Mission High School in 1947 and married William David Sosebee in Feb. 1948. She was a division manager for Sears in McAllen and retired with over 30 years of service. She was a member of the Mission Church of Christ and worshiped at Westgate Church of Christ after moving to Abilene.
Survivors include her daughters, Jackie Lee and Connie McSherry of Abilene and Cindy Lawrence of Rowlett; son, Danny Sosebee of McAllen; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, and a son, Thomas David Sosebee.
A graveside service was held Aug. 18 at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission,
