MISSION – Elvira Cruz, 71, passed away Thursday, August, 30, 2012, at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood. She was born to Jose Martin Ruiz and Toribia Zamora Ruiz on February 9, 1941 in Mission.
Survivors include her children, Jose Carlos Cruz, Norma Gonzalez, Rolando Cruz, Ricardo Cruz, Alberto Cruz and Oscar Cruz; brothers, Lucas and Hector Ruiz; 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Porfirio Cruz; and daughter, Marta S. Cruz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
