MISSION - Alfonso A. Gutierrez, 92, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Mission Regional Medical Center. He was born May 12, 1920 in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico to Mariano and Manuela Arredondo Gutierrez.
Survivors include his wife, Maria De La Luz Garcia Gutierrez; sons, Alfonso Gutierrez Jr., Hector Gutierrez, Joel Gutierrez and Mariano Gutierrez; daughters, Catalina Estrada, Marion Ayala, Maria Elena Gutierrez, Manuela Gutierrez and Guadalupe Gutierrez; sisters, Vita Lopez, Carmela Ramirez, Elida Zamora, Olga Garcia and Elva Castaneda; and a brother, Oscar Gutierrez; 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Sept. 24 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
