MISSION - Rene Garza passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his children, Linda Garcia and Rene David Garza; siblings, Abelino Garza Abram, Paula Maldonado of Mission, Arturo Garza of Carpentersville, Ill., Irene Rivera of Waxahachie, Diana Cardenas of Mission and Juan Garza of Penitas; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelina Garza; parents, Juan and Maria Luisa Garza; and brother, Nieves Garza.
The viewing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Virgil Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 93 will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
