MISSION - Maria Peña Lopez, 100, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011 at her residence in Mission. She was born to Roman Lopez and Manuela Espinoza on Aug. 12, 1910 in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Survivors include her children, Librada Garza, Hortencia Ramirez; Salvador Peña Jr., and Nilda Segura; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Salvador Peña; a son, Rogelio Peña; and her parents preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held March 23 at Iglesia Bautista Colonial in Palmview with interment following at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission. Virgil Wilson Mortuary of Mission handled the arrangements.
