PENITAS - Roy Martinez, 54, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Martinez was born to Raul Martinez and Elva Garcia on June 28, 1958 in Temple. He graduated from La Joya High School in 1978 and worked for Genco Energy Services in McAllen.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Elena Martinez; sons, Roy Martinez Jr., Raul Dario Martinez and Roberto Rolando Martinez; mother; Elva Martinez; brothers, Raul Martinez, Ruben Martinez, Rogelio Martinez, and Romeo Martinez; and sisters; Amanda Hernandez, Thelma Martinez and Rosalinda Martinez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raul Martinez.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 12 to 9 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m. at Lord and I Memorial Chapel in Penitas. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at Lord and I Memorial Chapel in Penitas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Martinez Jr., Raul Dario Martinez, Roberto Rolando Martinez, Saul Requenez, Saul Ramirez and Raul Martinez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesus M. Garcia and Manuel Garcia.
