MISSION - Amelia G. Martinez, 79, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at her residence in Mission. She was born July 2, 1933 in McAllen.
Survivors include her husband, Acension Partida; sons, Pedro Martinez of Pharr and Fernando Martinez, Jesse Martinez and Ruben Martinez of Mission; daughters, Maria Ayres of McAllen and Graciela Lozano and Eva Martinez of Mission; six sisters and five brothers; and 36 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monico and Agapita Garza; sons, Jesus and Ricardo Martinez; and a daughter, Teresa Tamez.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Mission.
