MISSION - Adan P. Mora Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at the Alfredo Gonzalez State Veterans Nursing Home.
Mr. Mora was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. He served nine years in the U.S. Army and worked 27 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a life member of VFW Post 8788 American Legion Post 37 of McAllen. He was a past commander and life member of DAV Chapter 95 of McAllen and a commander with the VFW Post 8788 Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Daphine Mora; children Adan P. Mora Jr., Cynthia Garcia, Eduardo Mora, Idolina Quintero and Jaime Mora; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcos and Eduarda Mora, and his first wife, Adelina Hinojosa Mora.
The funeral mass will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gerardo Villarreal, Tony Hruzek, Julio De Leon Jr., Ruben J. Quintero, Joshua Quintero and Rolando Perez.
