MISSION - Celso Mendez, 25, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at his residence in Mission.
Born in McAllen, Mr. Mendez lived in Mission all of his life. He was a graduate of Sharyland High School and was a student at South Texas College pursuing a career as a diesel mechanic. He was employed at Days Inn in Brownsville and Hawthorne Suites in Mission.
Survivors include his mother, Guadalupe Cardoza, and sisters, Patricia Rodriguez, Claudia Duran, Dania Montes, Karina Martinez and Irene Mendez, all of Mission.
He was accompanied in death by his wife, Mildred Azeneth Mendez and preceded in death by his father, Francisco Mendez.
A funeral service was held Jan. 4 at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
