MISSION - Eva "Evie" Medina-Leyja, 45, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.
She was born on April 6, 1967 in McAllen to JoAnn Monroe and Albino Medina, Jr. and attended McAllen Memorial High School.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Robert Leyja; son, Robby Leyja; daughter, Bianca Guajardo; sister, Cissie Medina-Marez; and her father.
Preceding her in death were her mother; grandmothers, Herlinda Medina and Eva Monroe; grandfathers, Albino Medina Sr. and Cecil Desmond Monroe.
The funeral mass will be said at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jorge Guajardo, Ruben Medina, Aaron Garza, Pat Monroe, Rick Lozano, Joe Perez and Felix Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Sabo, Matthew Monroe, Blas P. Saenz, A.J. Rodriguez and Dylan Perez.
