MISSION - Maria G. Valladares, 100, passed away Sunday, Feb, 3, 2013 at Mission Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Valladares was born on Aug.15, 1912 to Juan and Soledad Godina in Zaragoza, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. In 1933, she married Luis Valladares Sr.
Survivors include her son, Ramiro Valladares; daughters, Cecilia Rivera and Irene Cabrieles; sister, Belen Mercado; and 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; sons, Reyes Lionel Valladares and Luis Valladares; brother, Candelario Godina; and sister Petra Castaneda.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 1 to 8:30 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Romeo Valladares, Marco Valladares, Charlie Rivera, Eddie Rivera and Roy Valladares and great-grandson Bobby Villanueva.
