MISSION - Maria Del Refugio Cadena, 78, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at Mission Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 7, 1934 in Salinas, Victoria, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Cadena, Imelda Cadena, Martha Cadena and Doris Cadena; brothers, Jose Maria Esparza and Julio Esparza; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Cadena was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Patricio Cadena; parents, Timoteo Esparza and Julia Reyna; and three sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be held at Flores Funeral Home in Mission on Thursday, Feb. 14, from 1 to 6 p.m. with a rosary at 7:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Another will be held on Friday, Feb. 15, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home. The funeral mass is planned for Saturday, Feb. 16, at 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
