PENITAS/PALMVIEW - Baldomero Loya, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Mr. Loya graduated from La Joya High School, served in the U.S. Army for three years, graduated with an associate’s degree in animal science from TSTI Harlingen and attended Pan American University. He worked for the Fish and Wildlife and Texas Parks and Wildlife as a park ranger for 38 years.
He is survived by his wife Aida Loya; daughters, Lorelei Alvarez, Lynette Guerra and Leticia Loya; brothers, Benjamin, Armando and Ramiro; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral mass will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peñitas. Interment will follow at RGV Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Mission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vidal and Abelina Loya; brothers, Vidal and Blas; and sisters, Olaya, Olivia, Fransisca and Nelda.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Eddie Loya, Blas Loya Jr., Adelaido Villarreal Jr., Baldemar Gonzalez Jr., Benjamin Loya Jr., Felix Farias, Armando Loya Jr., Ramiro Loya Jr., Lloyd Loya, Marcelo Chapa, Fidencio Chapa Jr., Encarnacion Chapa Jr. and Esteban Farias.
