She was born to Martha Isabel Sanchez and Emeterio Rodriguez on Dec. 26, 1919 in La Puerta Ranch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Martinez Sr.; sons, Rene and Noel Martinez; and daughter, Minerva M. Ruiz.
Survivors include her daughter, Edelmira Obregon; sons, Ruben Martinez Sr., Sandalio Martinez, Abel Martinez Jr. and Joel Martinez; and 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Ayala, Michael Murillo, Ruben Martinez Jr., Sandalio Martinez Jr., Cesar Martinez, Jerry Martinez and Oved Zamora.
Honorary pallbearers are Joel Martinez Jr. and Ruben Garza Jr.
Family received friends on Friday, March 22, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Lord and I Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Peñitas. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Sullivan City. Interment will follow at Havana Cemetery.
