OBIT-Hector Rene Mares

SULLIVAN CITY - Hector Rene "La Rana" Mares, 51, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at McAllen Medical Center.

Mr. Mares was born on Jan. 29, 1962 in Sullivan City. He attended La Joya ISD and Gary Job Corp. in San Marcos where he received his certification as a welder.

Survivors include his wife, Aurora Mares; sons, Hector Rene Mares Jr., Orlando Mares and Matthew Mares; five brothers and three sisters; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Manuela Mares.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Lord and I Memorial Chapel in Sullivan City. Interment will follow at Sullivan City Cemetery.
