OBIT-Minerva R. Alvarado

MISSION - Minerva R. Alvarado, 79, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at McAllen Heart Hospital. She was born on Aug. 2, 1933 in Westhoff to Manuel Rodriguez and Luisa Rivas.

Survivors include her children, Melinda Salazar, Alma Diana Guerrero, Elizabeth Estrada, Ralph Lopez Jr., Richard M. Lopez and Felix D. Lopez; sister, Celia R. Gonzalez; half-brothers and sisters; and eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her son, David L. Lopez, and her husband, Ruben Alvarado.

The funeral mass was held on May 8 at St. John of the Fields Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
