MISSION – Laurencia “Larry” Vasquez Farias, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her son, Hector (Letha) Farias of Weslaco; grandchildren, Hector Farias III, David Farias and Kassandra Farias; one great-grandchild, Persephone Farias; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Farias was preceded in death by her husband Hector Farias; parents , Margarito and Andrea Valdez de Vasquez; brothers, Bernardo Vasquez, Catarion Vasquez, Pedro Vasquez, Donicio “Nicho” Vasquez and Roman Vasquez; sisters, Ramona Vasquez Cabrera, Adelina Vasquez Gutierrez, Maria Vasquez Sandoval, Victoria Vasquez, Gumecinda Vasquez Nix, and San Juanita Vasquez Rutledge.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Pallbearers will be Hollis Rutledge Jr., Hollis Rutledge III, Ryan P. Rutledge, Hector Farias III, David Farias and Kassandra Farias. Arrangements are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission.
