MISSION/PHARR – Guadalupe “Javier” Cavazos, 72, passed away April 14, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital in Edinburg. Born in Mission, he had lived in Pharr for the past three years.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Cristina Cavazos of Pharr; sons, Dr. Guadalupe (Nancy) J. Cavazos Jr. of Pharr, Jaime Cavazos of Dallas, and Joel (Melissa) Cavazos of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, his pride and joy, Brandon, Joseph, Jonathan, Allyson, and Evan; brothers, Jose Roberto Cavazos, Rene Cavazos, Arturo Cavazos, and Jose Carlos Cavazos; sisters, Maria Elena Gomez and Irma Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.
