HAVANA - Manuel Casas, 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center. Mr. Casas was born April 2, 1929 in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Domingo and Maria Casas.
Mr. Casas was retired from La Joya ISD.
He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Casas; mother, Maria Garcia; daughter, Nora Alicia Casas; son, Ramon Casas; grandson, Carlos Eric Sanchez; and his mother in-law, Anita R. Reyna, whom he loved dearly.
Mr. Casas is survived by his wife of 54 years, Angelica Reyna Casas; sons, Manuel (Hilda) Casas Jr. and Homer R. (Rosalinda) Casas; daughters, Anna (Carlos) Sanchez, Norma (Javier) Garza, and Gloria (Pablo) Ruiz: grandchildren, Roel Casas, Marcos Casas, Nancy Sanchez Rodriguez, Eric Sanchez, Homer Casas Jr., Melissa Casas, Deborah Casas Hernandez, Cristina Casas, Javier Ramon Garza, Albert Garza, Lorie Garza, Pablo Ruiz III, Eddie Ruiz, and Alexis Ruiz; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jesus Casas; and nephew, Ramon Casas from Laredo, Mexico.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at L & I Funeral Home Chapel in Penitas. Interment will follow at the Havana Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. George and all the Dr.'s, nurses, and staff at Valley Internal Medicine, Mission Regional Medical Center ICU Second Floor nurses, and Third Heaven Adult Care in Penitas for all their services and La Fuente Home Health Care. With great honor, special thanks to our Tia Rufina Fuentes who cared for our father in such a loving way. Also, thanks to Faith Fellowship Bible Church and El Faro Bible Church for all their prayers and support.
