OBIT: Jose David Garza

LOS EBANOS - Jose David Garza, 84, left to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Mission Regional Medical Center. He was born to Albino and Santos Garza on February 12, 1927 in Los Ebanos.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Hermila Flores Garza; children, Jaime Garza, Flora (Pancho) Flores, Julian (Alicia) Garza, Ricardo (Melly) Garza and Dora Garza; sisters, Azusena and Dalia Amejorado, and Alida Hovey; brother, Eleazar Garza; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Oscar D. Garza and Roque Garza, and brothers and sisters, Arturo Garza, Emilio Garza, Rodolfo Garza, Rosendo Garza, Eliza F. Garza and Emma Ortega.

The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, April 18, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Los Ebanos. Interment will follow at Los Ebanos Cemetery in Los Ebanos. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 3895 of La Joya.

Pallbearers will be Oscar Garza, Roque Garza, Jaime Garza, Omar Flores, David Garza, and Ricardo Garza Jr.  Honorary pallbearer will be Sonia Garza.
