OBIT-Virginia P. Vela

MISSION - Virginia P. Vela, 79, passed away on Thursday July 4, 2013 at her residence in Mission.

Mrs. Vela was born July 25, 1933 to the late Eulalio and Norberta Perez in Mission.

Survivors include her children, Juanita Vela, Arturo Vela, Isabel Hernandez, Alma Vela, Diana Garza, Lupita Vela, Sylvia Vela and Jose Vela; sister, Rebecca Perez; and 35 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 11 great- great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Vela, and sons, Pedro Vela and Chuy Vela.

A funeral mass was held on July 6 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Lord and I Cemetery in Palmview.
