OBIT-Dorothy Muir Harrigan

Dorothy Muir Harrigan, 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Mission.

Mrs. Harrigan was born in West Virginia on Feb. 23, 1924 to William and Margaret Muir. She grew up in Mount Hope, W.V. and graduated from Marshall University. She spent most of her adult life in New Jersey and retired to Greenville, N.C. and spent her final years in Mission.

She was a former teacher and an active member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Mission and former member, deacon, elder and honorary Life Member of Presbyterian Women of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.

Survivors include her daughters, Lisbeth Ellen Beasley of Greenville, N.C. and Victoria Hereford of Rowlett; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Harrigan.

The burial and memorial service were held in Greenville, N.C.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
