OBIT-Jose Santos Navarro

Mission – Jose Santos "Chori" Navarro Sr., 89, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Mission Regional Medical Center.

He was an Army Veteran who served in WWII. Following the war, he was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture at Moore Field. Later he was employed at Mission Feed and Seed.

Survivors include; children, Rebecca Salazar, Pilar Navarro, Alicia Galvan, Matias Navarro, Mauricio Navarro, Irene Jackson, Victoria Navarro, Patricia Navarro and Joe Navarro; sister, Rafaela Alaniz; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria P. Navarro; daughter, Rosa Farias; and parents and brothers and sisters.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Abram.
