ALTON - Salvador Ortiz passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013, at his residence in Alton.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria E. Ortiz; children, Maria Luisa Garcia, Juan Jose Ortiz, Javier Ortiz, Cesar Ortiz Sr., Sandra Ruiz, Salvador Ortiz II, Jose Reynaldo Ortiz Sr., Hermelinda Ortiz, Veronica Gomez, Sofia Hernandez and Carina Arellano; brothers, Aurelio Ortiz, Pedro and Alfredo Carrillo; sisters, Estella Cantu, Guadalupe Castañeda and Juanita Cavazos; mother, Hermelinda Juarez- Carrillo; stepfather, Jose Isabel Carrillo; and 34 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Salvador Ortiz; son, Roman Ortiz; and grandson, Rudy Ortiz.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Abram.
Pallbearers will be Salvador Ortiz III, Cesar Ortiz Jr., Steve Ortiz, Albert Hernandez, Kevin Fuentes, Jose Reynaldo Ortiz Jr., Marcelino Ortiz and Alejandro Perez Jr.
