OBIT-Pedro Perez

MISSION - Pedro "Popo" Perez, 77, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at his residence in Mission.

Born in Brownsville, Mr. Perez formerly lived in Victoria before moving to Mission 10 years ago.He was a United States Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Antonia Perez; daughter, Yolanda Garza; brothers, Jose Perez, Isabel Perez and Jeronimo Perez; a sister, Margarita De La Paz; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Jose, Jesus and Julian Perez, and his parents, Jose and Bartola Perez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at St. Mary of Magdalene Catholic Church in Abram. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors.
