MISSION, TEXAS - Jason De Luna, 29, passed away on April 30, 2011 at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
A resident of Mission for most of his life, he was born in McAllen on July 30, 1981 to Osvaldo and Ludivina De Luna. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a 1999 graduate of Mission High School. Mr. De Luna served his country in the United States Army, where he served in the Bosnia and Afghanistan conflicts. From 2007 to 2010 he was stationed in Sacramento, California as an agent with the U.S. Customs.
He will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Osvaldo and Ludivina De Luna; sister, Janis Montemayor (Ronnie) of Edinburg; nieces, Khaira and Scarlet Montemayor; maternal grandmother Brijida Salas; and his extended family, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anita and Domingo De Luna, and maternal grandfather, Cleofas Morales.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
