OBIT-Fidel Salinas

MISSION – Fidel Salinas, 95, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1918 in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Ramon and Sara Garza Salinas.

Survivors include his children, Maria Piedad Martinez, Sara Nellie Garza and Fidel Salinas Jr.; sister, Ramona Leal; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Piedad Flores Salinas; sisters, Lupe Quintanilla, Dora Salinas and Rosa Salinas; and brothers, Miguel, Jose and Diego Salinas; and granddaughter, Alexa Monet Salinas.

Visitation will be held at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission on Monday, Aug. 26, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Eric E. and Alex R. Salinas, Luis Carlos and Nick Garza, Christopher H. Martinez and Alonzo Richmond. Honorary pallbearers will be Diego and Dominic Richmond.
