MISSION - Henry Patrick “Dan” Mahoney passed away.

Born in Saskatoon, Sask., Canada on Feb. 19, 1935, Mr. Mahoney was a 1953 graduate of Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon and attended St. Thomas More College.

Working in the computer industry, he worked for the St. Louis, Mo. police department where he designed a law enforcement computer system, was the information technology director for the American College of Physicians in Philadelphia and later the president of Computer Professionals, Inc., in Wayne, Penn. After his retirement, he moved to the Rio Grande Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Cummings Mahoney of Mission; children, Michael Mahoney of Portland, Ore., Kevin Mahoney of Boulder, Colo. and Brenda Mahoney of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Poole Mahoney, and father, Daniel Joseph Mahoney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research (giving@mdanderson.org), the American Heart Association, or the Colonel Potter Cairn Rescue Network.
