MISSION - George Brooks passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.
He was born to parents George and Geneva Brooks in 1942 and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club there. He moved to Texas in 1980 where he dedicated most of his time to missionary support work throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Mexico.
Survivors include his, wife Lois; sons, Elias Brooks, Joshua Brooks, Stephen Brooks and Patrick Brooks; sisters, Marilyn Grossi and Carolyn McClain; and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen with a memorial service beginning at 10 a.m.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Comfort House, 617 Dallas Ave, McAllen, TX.
