MISSION – Maria M. Garcia, 82, went on to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 peacefully at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on March 14, 1929 in Tierra Blanca to Juan and Maria Elena Pena. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she leaves behind a rich legacy founded on an unyielding faith in God and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Antonio Garcia; a son, Noe Garcia Sr. (Rosa); daughters, Flor E. Garza (Juan), Enedina Palomo (Jaime), and Anna Rudy Garcia (David); and 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her beloved son, Abel Garcia Sr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 5-9 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. A funeral service will be held May 7 at 10 a.m. at the same location. Pastor Andres Rangel of Templo Nueva Vida Community Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.
