ALTON - Florindo "Chalo" Rosales Jr., 87, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Rosales was born in Mission on March 30, 1926 to Florindo Rosales Sr. and Isadora Rosales. He was a pioneer of Alton where he resided all his life. He was a deputy constable for four years and worked for Valcon Metal Buildings for over 20 years as a supervisor.
Survivors include his son, Arturo Rosales; daughters, Emma Rosales and Celia Flores; and five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Otila Rosales; a daughter, Ernestina Trevino; sons, Florindo Rosales III and Ruben Rosales; great-granddaughter Alyssa A. Jasso; his parents; brothers, Uvaldo Rosales and Francisco Rosales; and sisters, Amelia Luna, Maria Nino, Nora Guzman, Ofelia Lopez and Leonor Cantu.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ramiro Trevino, Federico Trevino, Ramiro Cantu, Rey Santos, Javier Garate, Juan Flores and Ernest Mueller.
