OBIT-Julian B. Salinas

MISSION - Julian B. “J.B.” Salinas, 54, after a battle with cancer.

Born in McAllen on Nov. 3, 1958, he grew up in Mission where he attended Castro Elementary and Mission High School.

Mr. Salinas worked as a steamship official in Houston and returned to Mission in 1996 when he took over the family business, J & E Associates. He retired in 2012.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; children, Samantha Ramirez, Jessica Salinas and Alexandra Salinas; parents, Julian and Evangelina Salinas; sisters, Elva Requenez, Irma Garcia, Martha Elkins and Gloria Olivares; and one granddaughter.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Comfort House, 617 Dallas Ave., McAllen, TX 78501.
