OBIT-Rolando Francisco Barrera

MISSION - Rolando Francisco Barrera, 58, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at McAllen Medical Center.

Mr. Barrera was a member of the Mission Parks and Recreation advisory board and helped foster children through a career with A World for Children.

He is survived by his brother, Ramiro H. Barrera of Mission.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonel and Eva Barrera, and brothers, Leonel Barrera Jr. and Jaime X. Barrera.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial donations be made to A World for Children, 2917 N. 23rd, McAllen, TX 78501.
