PENITAS – La Joya Police Chief Jose Luis Del Angel, 44, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, May 12, 2011 in La Joya.
He served with the La Joya Police Department for 17 years—four years as a police chief and and 13 years as a private investigator. Chief Del Angel was born to Eustacio and Edelmira Del Angel on November 16, 1966.
He is survived by his children, Victoria, Vanessa, Valeria and Jose Luis Del Angel Jr.; and Norma Del Angel, mother of his stepson, Xavier Garcia; his father; brothers; Felipe, Sergio, and Jonas Del Angel; sisters, Carmen Moreno, Esmeralda Salinas, Mirtha Sandoval, and Zaida Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his mother and two brothers, Mario and Alfredo Del Angel.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, at Our Lady Queen Of Angels Catholic Church in La Joya. Burial will follow at Benavides Cemetery in Sullivan City.
