MISSION - Fermin Closner Perez, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Doctor's Hospital in Edinburg.

Mr. Perez served with the McAllen Fire Department reaching the rank of Lieutenant. After his retirement, he became owner of the Palms Lounge in Mission.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Grace Perez of Mission; sons, Fermin Perez Jr. of Mission, Tony Perez of Mission and John Paul Perez of Mission; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren,.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
